 In celebration of over 120 contestants in the Miss Black Arizona Scholarship Pageant system since 2008, the foundation will present a Red Carpet Experience before this year’s pageant. The Red Carpet Experience will allow local and statewide media as well as friends, family and community supporters to meet the contestants vying for one of five crowns in this year’s pageant. Media check-in will begin at 2:30 p.m. with the red carpet event to meet this year’s contestants, hosts, judges and VIP guests taking place from 3:00- 3:45 p.m.

Pageant doors will open at 3:30 p.m., ticketed guests are advised that this year's pageant is sold out, so come early as the building will be packed!

The theme for this year’s pageant is "Black Girls Rock in AZ,” with colors blue, silver and red dominating the night at the Indian Steele Park Memorial Hall in Phoenix. The young ladies will compete in the following categories: Interview (Teens Only), Personal Introduction, Casual Wear Modeling, Formal Wear, an Optional Talent Competition and On Stage Question and Answer. The pageant is divided into 5 divisions: Toddler Miss ages 3-4, Tiny Miss ages 5-7, Little Miss ages 8-9, Junior Miss ages 10-12, and Teen Miss ages 13-17, with one winner in each division.  Every contestant  will participate in a special crowning ceremony where they will be given a rose, sponsored gift bag and tiara. Courtney Livingston, 2011 Miss Black Arizona, Tremaine Jasper, Mr. PhxSoul.com and comedian, E-Tweed will serve as hosts for the evening.

There are over 35 hopeful contestants that will be competing for the ultimate prize of reigning as the 2011-2012 queens in their individual divisions, as well as savings bonds, crowns, trophies, sashes, college scholarships, cash and other sponsored gifts.  The MBAZ Foundation has gathered a distinguished panel of judges to score our young ladies in this exciting competition. This year's sponsors include: Rare Essence Studio, Cheesecake Factory, Balaros Phase II Hair Salon, PHXSoul.com, Design Essentials Hair Care, BlackCelebrityGiving.com, Harkins Theaters and The Write Up Newspaper. Tickets for the 2011 Little Miss and Teen Black Arizona Pageant have sold out; 400 guests are expected!

Even in the midst of an NFL lockout, Atlanta native and San Diego Charger Marcus

McNeill (#73) steps up his philanthropic efforts to benefit youth in San Diego, CA.  McNeill started his Mack’s Miracles Foundation with an awareness of the effects of childhood obesity, as it has affected those close to him.  His goal is to educate youth on leading a healthy lifestyle, to fight childhood obesity, as well as emphasizing the importance of financial fitness, partnering with Junior Achievement of San Diego and Imperial Counties (JA) in this strive.  Marcus McNeill and the Mack's Miracles Foundation proudly announce its 1st Annual San Diego All-Star Charity Weekend, taking place in San Diego July 22-24, 2011.
